Why You Need An Ice Dispenser For Entertainment Reasons

byAlma Abell

Ice beverage dispenser appliances come in many shapes and sizes. Many people opt for ice buckets over ice dispensers because they are much more affordable. The problem with ice buckets however is that the ice melts over time and this can really set you back in terms of budget. You would have to purchase enough ice to last you throughout the day, and this is not very practical. Ice dispensers keep the ice frozen at all times, so you do not have to keep refilling it as the ice melts and you can always have ice on hand. This is great for those who host summer parties and social gatherings, not to mention it is a very affordable appliance to run.

Why Purchase An Ice Dispenser?

Not many people have the time to make ice in preparation for a summer gathering. It’s time consuming and it also takes a lot of effort. Not to mention the water also takes hours to freeze. By purchasing an ice dispenser and filling it with bagged ice, you can remove all this hassle. Your guests will be able to grab the ice whenever they want, and the appliance itself is very easy to maintain. Simply hook it up to the nearest plug socket and your well on your way.

Consistently Good Ice Every time

Another great thing about having an ice dispenser is that you get the right amount of ice, every time. The dispenser releases the same amount of ice with every application, so you don’t need to worry about ice going all over the floor and melting. Simply place your glass under the nozzle, push the button and watch as the ice falls directly into the glass. Your guests don’t need to continually visit the freezer, and your dispenser can be place wherever you want for ease of access. This makes things a lot easier for both yourself, and your guests.

Affordability

Ice dispensers are relatively affordable to purchase. Some come with light up signs whereas others just come with the basics. Whatever you need, you can be sure to find one that suits your every need by visiting your local supplier.

Freighter hits fishing boat in Gulf of Suez; thirteen dead

Tuesday, December 16, 2014

A freighter hit a fishing boat around midnight on Sunday morning in the Gulf of Suez in the Red Sea. Of the 40 Egyptian fisherman on board, thirteen are dead and thirteen more missing.

Survivor Al Sayyed Mohamed Arafat told local media he jumped from the fishing boat, named Badr al-Islam, as the container ship approached. He says he hung onto a wooden crate for four hours before rescue. Local authorities have promised compensation to each survivor.

A vessel, flagged in Panama, suspected to be involved in the collision has been detained by the military. The army said yesterday one victim raised the alarm by phone and the military sent four boats and a helicopter to commence search and rescue off the Gabal al-Zayt coastline.

A plane has since joined the search. The military say the fishing boat lacked safety equipment for emergency communications.

The detained ship was found south of the Gulf, near the port of Safaga. It was carrying 220 tonnes of cargo according to the General Authority for the Red Sea Ports.

Choosing A Four Day Split Workout Routine For The Resistance Training

By Guy Long

There are two ways to perform a resistance training routine; you can either do a full body routine or a split routine. A full body workout can be performed 3-4 times per week and it normally focuses on training your entire body. With a full body routine, you work your each major muscle group for a single session of strength training with the free weights or exercise machines. With a split routine, on the other hand, you primarily focus on one area or a large muscle group instead of targeting your whole body each day.

Most body builders love to set up a four-day split workout routine in the gym. In fact, four-day splits make a wonderful gift for people who have been performing resistance training for a few months and want to progress to the next level. With four-day splits, you divide your workouts in four days a week: First day pull, second day push, third day legs, and fourth day a combination of cardio exercises and pull, push and legs exercises. Make sure that you’re at the gym 4 days a week, accompanied by the rest 3 days in between.

A pull routine means that you would be fully focusing on the pulling motions for a single session of resistance training to target your traps, biceps, triceps, lower back and upper back. To train your traps, you can perform Shrugs while forearms can be effectively targeted by the Reverse Curls. In order to tone your biceps, you need to perform exercises such as Concentration Curls and E-Z Bar. Moreover, you can train your lower and upper back with Bent-Over Rows and Lat Pull-Downs.

A push routine means that you need to train your shoulders and chest for a full day to develop and strengthen the front part of your body. Incline and Flat Bench Press make some wonderful exercises to develop your chest. Moreover, you can train your shoulders with Over-Head Press. Some people also include triceps exercises such as Triceps Extensions in their push routine to tone and build their triceps.

The Leg day primarily focuses your quads with Lunges, Squats and Leg Presses. Calf exercises such as Calf Raises make a perfect exercise to strengthen your calves and ankles. Moreover, you can train your hamstrings with Lying Legs Curls and Stiff Leg Dead Lift.

Nowadays, there is an emerging trend to include a unique routine in your split training schedule consisting of a combination of aerobic workouts and shoulders, chest, forearms and legs exercises in one training session. Not only does this unique combination help shed excess fat from your body, but it also targets and trains major muscle groups in your entire body one day a week. You usually start with a cardio exercise such as running on a treadmill or rope jumping and then switch to a chest exercise. Next step is to rest for 25-30 seconds and start a cardio exercise again followed by the shoulder exercise. Again rest for 30 seconds and perform a combination of a cardio exercise and resistance training exercise and so on. This full-body exercise routine one day a week helps accelerate the development of your large muscle groups extremely quickly.

US unemployment rate down to ten percent

Sunday, December 6, 2009

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on Friday that unemployment in the country edged down from 10.2% to 10% in November, with fewer jobs lost in the previous two months than anticipated. The latest monthly figure was discussed at a congressional hearing yesterday as president Barack Obama welcomed the news but said he is still not satisfied.

At a hearing of the bipartisan Joint Economic Committee at the Senate, lawmakers from both major US political parties cited the November unemployment figure as welcome progress. However, they also noted the economic pain many of their constituents are still feeling in an economy struggling with deep recession.

Senator Amy Klobuchar, a Minnesota Democrat, said Americans at all levels, but notably the middle class, continue to struggle. “While parts of our economy are clearly stabilizing, with the Dow Jones over 10,000 again, it is clear that other parts of the economy are still struggling. We need to make sure that all Americans, not just the folks who happen to work on Wall Street, feel that we are digging ourselves out of the hole,” she commented.

Despite a generally upward trend in recent months on Wall Street, Obama, administration officials, and economists continue to caution that employment will lag behind other indicators of economic recovery.

Keith Hall, Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, said the November figure, which still represents 15.4 million Americans out of work, is the lowest monthly job loss since the official beginning of the US recession in December 2007, and follows moderating figures in three previous months.

But in an economy that has lost jobs for 23 consecutive months, Hall noted that long-term unemployed continued to grow, rising by 293,000 to 5.9 million, with little change in the number of Americans employed part-time but seeking full-time work.

Democrat Carolyn Maloney asked him about economist’s predictions that it would take 10.7 million jobs created to return the country to full employment. “Well, without offering an opinion on that 10.7 million jobs, at that rate though, it would be about three years,” said Mr. Hall.

Opposition Republicans responded to the latest figures by focusing on specific sectors that continue to lag and renewing their assertions that steps President Obama has taken since he came to office, such as the $787 billion stimulus, have had little impact on the economy.

Kevin Brady is the Republican co-chair of the committee. He said while the November figures are good news, there is not much more to celebrate.”We can’t celebrate a 10 percent unemployment rate, especially when the long-term unemployment continues to grow in very troubling numbers.”

But Maryland Democrat Elijah Cummings noted what he called a major improvement with job losses going from 700,000 per month at the start of the recession to 11,000 in November. “The report we received this morning is a clear indicator that the economy is slowly returning to growth,” he said.

In an appearance in Allentown, Pennsylvania on Friday, Obama called the jobs figure “modestly encouraging”, but noted that he will not be satisfied until there is sustained significant improvement. “We have still got a long way to go. I consider one job loss one job too many and as I said yesterday at a jobs conference in Washington. Good trends don’t pay the rent. We have got to actually grow jobs and get America back to work as quickly as we can,” he said.

The president had held a so-called jobs summit at the White House this week seeking support from business and union leaders for his economic recovery efforts.

Republicans responded with their own event on Capitol Hill, where economists such as Douglas Holtz Eakin, the former adviser to Senator John McCain who lost the 2008 election to Obama, questioned his approach to recovery. “Job creation in the United States is something that small businesses, entrepreneurs and the private sector will do but they cannot do it if they are burdened by a legacy of debt and the prospect of higher taxes to pay off that debt and that is the most troubling aspect of the policies this administration is pursuing,” he said.

In testimony to Congress this week, US Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke agreed with economists who caution that despite hopeful predictions of moderately strong economic growth unemployment is likely to remain high well into 2010.

US state of Kansas in battle over “Intelligent Design” in education

Wednesday, November 2, 2005File:Touched by His Noodly Appendage.jpg

Tempers are flaring in the U.S. state of Kansas, where a school board may be on the verge of passing a measure to require that Intelligent Design be taught in public school science classes.

Christian political activists such as Reverend Jerry Johnston of First Family Church in Overland Park Kansas are supporting the effort to shape Kansas science standards according to religious beliefs. Johnston said, “Getting intelligent design into school curricula is the worthiest cause of our time and the key to reversing the country’s moral decline.”

In an apparent attempt to make the inclusion of Intelligent Design into the curriculum seem foolish, “believers” in the Flying Spaghetti Monster are lobbying the Kansas school board, calling for it to require that creation by the Flying Spaghetti Monster be taught alongside Darwinism and Intelligent Design.

Bobby Henderson, the creator of “pastafarianism”, said “I think we can all look forward to the time when these three theories are given equal time in our science classrooms… One third time for Intelligent Design, one third time for Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, and one third time for logical conjecture based on overwhelming observable evidence.”

Several members of the Kansas Board of Education have already indicated that they might vote in favor of such an initiative. Board member Carol Rupe wrote, “The new version (of science standards) changes the very definition of science from ‘seeking natural explanations’ to ‘seeking logical explanations.’ That is why I think FSMism is able to be included. It is as ‘logical’ as any other theory.”

In 1999, Kansas also wrote Creationism, a precursor of Intelligent Design, into the public school curriculum. A later school board, however, overturned that directive.

Man arrested in connection with Honolulu toddler death

Saturday, January 19, 2008

Matthew Higa, 23, has been arrested in connection with the death of a 23-month-old boy. Higa is alleged to have thrown the child from a pedestrian overpass into oncoming traffic on Honolulu’s H-1 Freeway.

The local coroner’s office noted that the child died on impact after falling 30 feet (9 meters) from the overpass. This occurred during Thursday’s lunch rush hour in the heart of downtown. Upon impact, several cars struck the child, which caused traffic to grind to a halt.

The toddler, Cyrus Nainoa Tupa?i Belt, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:07 p.m. (2207 UTC), approximately 27 minutes after being allegedly being ejected from the overpass by Higa. The portion of H-1 was closed for approximately five hours with traffic diverted to side streets. The freeway was reopened in time for the evening commute.

At first the relationship between Higa and the child was unclear, but later reports stated that Higa lived adjacent to him and had babysat him on previous occasions. The boy’s mother was out of town at the time of his death, but it was revealed that the child was supposed to be in the custody of his father and not with Higa.

Higa graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2003. In the summer of 2004 Higa was involved in an incident where police reports indicate a three-car race resulted in the death of a friend. Higa has since had a criminal history, with more than a dozen arrests but no convictions, and reports from neighbors of erratic behavior.

Queen’s Medical Center, which houses a psychiatric ward in Honolulu, noted that he was a patient there as recently as December 11, 2007. When arrested, Higa was wearing hospital scrubs, which were not immediately conducive to whether Higa was a patient in Queen’s psychiatric wing in the last couple of days. A representative of Queen’s declined to comment on whether Higa was admitted in the last week.
